Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee Will Include a Year of Celebrations | #tinder | #pof | romancescams | #scams

After scaling down her annual birthday celebrations both this year and last year due to the ongoing pandemic, Queen Elizabeth is preparing to commemorate her Platinum Jubilee in 2022 with far more pomp, circumstance, and crowds of well-wishers.

Over the course of 2022, celebrations will be held throughout the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth, and around the world to celebrate the first British monarch to have served seventy years after first taking the throne in 1952 at just 25 years old. Queen Elizabeth and various family members will also travel around the country to participate in various events marking this historic occasion, which will all culminate with June’s Platinum Jubilee Weekend, set to take place in exactly one year. An extended bank holiday will also be instated from Thursday June 2 to Sunday June 5 in order to “provide an opportunity for communities and people throughout the United Kingdom to come together to celebrate the historic milestone.”

The palace will hold a number of public events, community activities, and national moments of reflection in the Queen’s honor during the four day holiday. To kick off the royal festivities, 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses, and 400 musicians will gather for the traditional Trooping the Colour parade. That will be followed by the lighting of the Platinum Jubilee beacons throughout the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, UK overseas territories, and, for the first time ever, in the capital cities of Commonwealth countries. On Friday, there will be a Service of Thanksgiving for the Queen’s reign held at St. Paul’s Cathedral, and on Saturday the monarch and royal family will attend Derby at Epsom Downs. That night, the BBC will also stage a special live concert from Buckingham Palace featuring some of the world’s biggest entertainers.

On the final day of the Jubilee activities, communities are encouraged to host “The Big Lunch,” an idea that began in 2009 to encourage people to share friendship, food, and fun with their neighbors while celebrating the monarch. And the long weekend will conclude with The Platinum Jubilee Pageant which will feature over 5,000 people from across the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth and “combine street arts, theatre, music, circus, carnival and costume and celebrate the service of Her Majesty’s reign, as well as honoring the collective service of people and communities across the country.”
