The US Government Accountability Office urged four federal agencies to thoroughly assess adoption of robust ransomware and cybersecurity standards by sectors that make and supply food, energy, and access to health-care in the US.

The GAO report called on the departments of Homeland Security, Health and Human Services, Energy, and Transportation to determine the extent to which their sectors have adopted ransomware defense postures as outlined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
