A sexual predator twice raped a boy after telling the youngster they were going to play “mummies and daddies”.

Steven Brown, 24, denied attacking two boys when he was a teenager but was found guilty of three charges of rape following a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh.

After the verdicts were returned on Wednesday, jurors heard Brown had previously received a seven-year jail sentence in 2019 after admitting raping another boy and sexually assaulting a girl at properties in the city between 2014 and 2016.

His latest convictions relate to attacks committed in the Scottish capital between June 2012 and January 2017.

The court heard he sexually assaulted and raped one boy when the victim was aged 13.

He also assaulted and raped another boy twice.

The victim, who was 11 or 12 at the time of the attacks, was held against a wall, threatened with violence and repeatedly punched on the body.

Before raping the youngster on two occasions, Brown was said to have told the victim that they were going to play “mummies and daddies”.

When trying to stop one attack, the victim was punched in the stomach and sides and pinned on a bed and raped.
