The arrested man, Frank Cirino, 49, was already registered in the state Sex Offender Registry in connection with a 2021 conviction. According to the registry, he was released from prison on Jan. 3, 2023.
Bergen County Prosecutors said that on Thursday, members of the Cyber Crimes Unit searched Cirino’s residence at 255 Rt.17 South, Upper Saddle River, which is a motel.
Prosecutors said, “The investigation revealed that Cirino used the Internet to view, download, possess, and distribute items depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children. In addition, Cirino engaged in sexual conversations with other internet users whom he believed to be underage.”
Cirino was arrested in Paramus and charged with second-degree distribution of child
pornography, third-degree possession of child pornography, and third-degree attempted endangering the welfare of a child.
Cirino was taken to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
The investigation is ongoing, prosecutors said.
