Registered Sex Offender Rearrested For Allegedly Not Complying With Release Terms | #childpredator | #kidsaftey | #childsaftey

A 62-year-old Stockton resident who was a registered sex offender was rearrested and transferred to a state prison hospital earlier this month after allegedly not complying with his release terms.

Clarence Edson had been a registered sex offender since his arrest in 1993 after facing multiple courts of lewd and lascivious acts with minors by force or fear, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.

In 2019, he was released from custody as part of California’s Conditional Release Program, but law enforcement alleges that Edson has not been following the conditions of the release.

According to the sheriff’s office he was arrested on June 1 by the Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit following repeated efforts to get him to take advantage of treatment-related services.

After the efforts were unsuccessful, he was determined to be a continued threat to public safety and arrested pending the revocation of his release.

Ultimately, Edson was taken to a prison hospital on June 5.

Law enforcement did not disclose the reasons why he was sent to the hospital in their press release.
