Fraud: Carriage Place
A resident said June 16 that he received a call from someone claiming to be from Amazon and said the person knew his Social Security number and tried to solicit money from him.
The resident suspected it was a scam but found no activity on any of his bank accounts. Officers advised him to set up fraud alert on any accounts.
Lost property: Chagrin River Road
A woman lost her purse in the Sara’s Place parking lot overnight June 12.
It was later located by an officer and returned to her.
Traffic stop: Mayfield Road
A Willoughby man, 74, was cited for a red-light violation and driving under suspension June 12.
911 calls: Dorchester Road
Officers responded to a residence June 14 after receiving a 911 call with static on the line.
They confirmed there was a problem with the phone lines.
Escort: Battles Road
An officer escorted a woman to her ex-boyfriend’s home June 16 so she could retrieve property pursuant to a court order.
Disturbance: Dorchester Road
A resident was advised of a loud music complaint around 12:15 a.m. June 17.
Traffic complaints: Gates Mills Boulevard
Several calls were received about traffic congestion near SOM Center Road around 2 p.m. June 17.
Officers found workers paving the roadway and assured that flaggers were out and there was proper signage.
