The suspect has been identified as Baron Tumwakyire, a Primary 4 and 5 science teacher at Kembundu primary school in Buyanja sub county, Rukungiri district.
Elly Maate, the area police spokesperson says Tumwakyire is believed to have sexually assaulted the boy (names withheld), who is a leaner at Brilliance High School in Kihihi town Council in Kanungu district.
“On Tuesday December 20th 2022 at about 7 Pm at Kishanda ll village, Nyakagyeme Sub County in Rukungiri district, the victim was taken by the suspect to Kamuhogo trading centre and bought him two sodas and thereafter he allegedly took the victim to the banana plantation next to his (suspect’s) and engaged him in the act,” Maate said.
The victim, Maate was examined and relevant statements were recorded at Rukungiri Central Police Station under reference number CRB 1398/2022.
