A federal grand jury in New Jersey moved ahead with charges against the alleged mastermind behind one of the most prolific hacker groups in the world.

Russian national Dimitry Yuryevich Khoroshev is said to be behind the LockBit ransomware group. Khoroshev, 31, of Voronezh, was charged Tuesday by a 26-count indictment.

An indictment of more than two dozen counts accuses Khoroshev of developing the ransomware and stealing more than $100 million from 2,000 victims.

There’s a $10 million reward for information leading to Khoroshev’s arrest.

With the indictment unsealed, officials say a total of six LockBit members have now been charged for their participation in the LockBit conspiracy.
