“Safety is our number one priority,” local school takes part in global campaign for safety | News | #schoolsaftey

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – There was a “Great ShakeOut” across the world on Thursday.

It’s all a part of an international campaign to teach people how to stay safe during an earthquake.

Local schools took part in the movement, learning and acting out what to do in such an emergency.

Local schools took part in the Great Shakeout, learning and acting out what to do in such an emergency.

The Principal of Sugar Grove Elementary School said it was one of many things they do to stay prepared.

“Safety is our number one priority in the Vigo County Schools. We do fire drills, earthquake drills, tornado drills – this is just another drill to be prepared,” said Cassandra Cook, Principal.

The Great ShakeOut is also for adults, too. Many people take part at home and at work. You can learn more about this campaign here
