SALINE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Saline County Sheriff’s Department shared a phone scam it was made aware of Friday that targets registered sex offenders.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, people and one business were called by someone claiming to be “Deputy Troy Johnson.” The person on the phone claimed the person had warrants and tried to get bank information from them to pay “bond.”
Saline County Sheriff’s Department reminds everyone it does not accept funds over the phone or have an employee named Troy Johnson.
