Schenectady CSD releases school safety survey | #schoolsaftey

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Schenectady City School District is asking for input on ways to improve safety. The district created surveys for students, parents, staff and community members to weigh in on safety and security measures they would like to see.

The surveys are available on the district’s website and are open until May 29. It comes in response to two situations that caused concern.

A student at Mont Pleasant Middle School was arrested in April for allegedly having a gun inside their backpack. A student at the high school also reported about a possible weapon inside a locker after dismissal one day, but the report was unfounded.

Steps the district has already taken to improve safety include adding more security cameras and equipping all doors with alarms.
