Scotia man #charged with #identity theft, #grand larceny

A Scotia man allegedly opened a credit card in an acquaintance’s name and spent over $1,000 at various retailers in the Capital Region, State Police in Latham said Monday.

Michael Swint, 30, was charged with identity theft and grand larceny, both felonies, after an investigation involving suspected credit card fraud, police said.

Swint was arrested Oct 13 and was released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in Cohoes City Court on Oct. 24.
