SECAUCUS, NJ — On Thursday, June 15 members of the Secaucus Police Detective Division arrested Johan Marte Genao, 35, of Secaucus.

His arrest comes after a seven-month long investigation, led by Secaucus Police Detective Kristen Bronowich, into allegations that Genao both viewed and uploaded numerous videos that depicted children engaging in sexual acts.

Last year, various Secaucus Police detectives joined the ranks of Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force – New Jersey, which is spearheaded New Jersey State Police.

Genao was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child [2C:24-4b(5)(a)(I)] and Endangering the Welfare of a Child [2C:24-4b(5)(b)(III)]. He was released from jail pending his first appearance.

“The Secaucus Police Department continues to take part in initiatives to protect our most vulnerable population, our children,” Chief Dennis Miller said. “The tireless work and determination exhibited by Detective Bronowich is what directly led to this arrest.”

He also said he thinks Genao should be held in jail until his first appearance.

“Once again, I am frustrated and disappointed that Criminal Justice Reform allowed this predator to walk free without conditions, while awaiting his court appearance,” said Chief Miller.
