Position summary
The Security Administrator is responsible for the security and integrity of network and systems throughout the entire organization. They participate in the security team on-call rotation, incident handling, as well as provide tier II support and problem resolution.
This role is also responsible for monitoring and responding to security related systems including: SIEM devices, IDS/IPS sensors, network access controls, file integrity monitoring, change and configuration monitoring, endpoint protection and anti-malware, data loss prevention. Develop and deliver training materials and perform general security awareness and (specific security technology training).

education requirements
BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent experience
work experience requirements
1-4 years of network and system monitoring experience with large enterprise environments – preferred
1-4 years administrator level experience working with Linux, OS X, UNIX and Windows operating systems-preferred
Ability to read, analyze and interpret security and technical periodicals, journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
Must have basic understanding of the OSI Model, network routing and protocols
License/certifications
Preferred certifications include:
Certification or specialized information security training in the following: Security +, Network +, SSCP, or above, Microsoft Windows, Network Routing and Protocols, Incident Analysis or Handling certification such as GCIA, GCIH, Forensics. Equivalent work experience considered.
Physical Requirements
- Medium Work – exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly
