THE Senate is on alert for the possible hacking of its website, an official said on Tuesday.

“As soon as we learned of the House of Representatives (HoR) website hacking, our team went on alert and continuous monitoring. The Senate (website) has a perimeter and application firewall, but our tech team also made adjustments,” said Senate Secretary Renato Bantug.

“Per our IT, we recorded a spike in attacks last Sunday,” Bantug added.

On Sunday, the House website was hacked before it went offline in the afternoon.

The House website appears under and was defaced by hackers. Its photo journals section and its press releases showed a troll face image.
