Senior Java Developer in US-NY-New York

We are looking for a self-motivated Senior Java Developer to join our NYC Development team to work on Over-The-Counter (OTC) derivatives processing, including collateral, margin and payment processing. Due to the recent Dodd-Frank regulations, the ideal candidate will be working on enhancements related to the Central Clearing mandates using Java, multiple databases and application servers. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the vibrant alternative investment service industry, to do extensive new development and to have an immediate impact on client satisfaction.

Skills and Knowledge Desired:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related area
5 + years work experience as a developer in the financial industry (prime broker, buy-side or fund administration)
Experience in Java, SQL , Unix and Linux a must
Comprehension of Sybase — stored procedures, database schemas a must
Knowledge of JBoss (or Tomcat), JSP and JavaScript and frameworks like Spring, Struts or something comparable a must
Specific knowledge in OTC products (credits, rates, FX) a must
Knowledge of JQuery and Ajax a plus
Familiarity with Hibernate, FpML and XML a plus
Any messaging delivery channel experience (e.g. IBM MQ Series) and knowledge of XML parsers is a plus
Excellent verbal and written skills
Strong technical and architectural knowledge
Ability to work independently as well as with a global team of peers
