GENESEO – A town of Portage man has been charged after allegedly failing to updated information as a New York State Registered Sex Offender, reports the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
Bradley L. Fisher, 37, of Hunt was charged Sept. 26 by Sheriff’s Investigator Connor Sanford with two counts of failure to register.
The investigation alleges that Fisher, a level 2 New York State Registered Sex Offender, had internet accounts and social media accounts that he failed to register as required by law
State Correction Law requires any sex offender shall register with law enforcement within 10 calendar days after any change of address, internet accounts with internet access providers belong to the registered offenders, internet identifiers that the offender uses, or his or her status of enrollment, attendance, employment or residence at any institution.
Fisher was taken to Central Booking at Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention. The District Attorney’s Office requested that Fisher be held on $5,000 cash or credit, or $25,000 secured bond. The offenses did qualify for bail under the state Bail Reform Act due to Fisher’s parole cities. Fisher is currently on NYS Parole due to a previous sexual assault conviction.
Fisher was later arraigned at Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part at Livingston County Jail before Town of Mount Morris Justice David Provo, who remanded Fisher to the custody of the Sheriff with bail set at $2,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office represented Fish The District Attorney’s Office did not appear.
Fisher was sentenced to 10 years in state prison following a 2012 conviction of first-degree attempted criminal sex act, involving a pair of victims. He was released to parole on April 27, 2020, according to the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision and the state Sex Offender Registry.
Assisting with the investigation were Deputy Cosmo Giunta of the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division, Sheriff’s Investigator Martin Herkimer, and New York State Parole.
