The assault occurred on Sunday when Phimster visited two cafes on the promenade and verbally abused ands threatened staff and members of the public, police said. According to court listings, the notification breach relates to a failure to “complete your 7 day notification requirement as per your no fixed abode status” and relates to a previous sexual offence conviction.

A police spokeperson said: “Morecambe Police will not tolerate this kind of behaviour, especially directed towards hard-working employees of local businesses and visitors to the area. Should you witness similar incidents involving Andrew Phimister after his release, please contact us on 101 and email PC Foster directly on [email protected]. Thank you.”
