A sex offender who abused staff and customers at two Morecambe cafes has been sent to prison.
Andrew Phimster was handed an eight week prison sentence after his latest offences and police are already asking for information on any subsequent problems he may be involved in. Phimster, of no fixed address, was jailed at Blackpool Magistrates Court today for assault and breach of notification requirements.

The assault occurred on Sunday when Phimster visited two cafes on the promenade and verbally abused ands threatened staff and members of the public, police said. According to court listings, the notification breach relates to a failure to “complete your 7 day notification requirement as per your no fixed abode status” and relates to a previous sexual offence conviction.
A police spokeperson said: “Morecambe Police will not tolerate this kind of behaviour, especially directed towards hard-working employees of local businesses and visitors to the area.
