On July 28, the sheriff’s office was notified that three registered sex offenders – Wayne Darnell Bumpers, 75, of Bellemont Mount Hermon Road, Burlington; Charlie Earl Thrift, 48, of Burch Bridge Road, Burlington; and Randy Ortiz Gonzalez, 29, of 315 Carden St., Burlington – failed to register in person.

Bumpers and Gonzalez were arrested Aug. 1. Thrift was arrested Aug. 3. Each was charged with failure to register as a sex offender. Bond for each was set at $30,000 secured.

On Aug. 1 investigators went out to the address on Shepherd Road, Elon, where Richard Clay Foreman, 36, had last registered, but he was not there. Foreman was later found to be held at the Person County Jail. The sheriff’s office contacted Person County, which served Foreman with warrants for two counts of failure to register as a sex offender. Bond was set at $35,000 secured.

On Aug. 2, the sheriff’s office learned that registered sex offender Patrick Erin McComb, 29, of Walker Avenue, Graham, failed to register two social media accounts as required by state law. He was arrested Aug. 3 and charged with failure to register as a sex offender. His bond was set at $2,500 secured.
