Sex predator sting nabs 9 in Lee County

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested nine men following an undercover sexual predator sting operation.From May 15-18, undercover officials with LCSO posed as minors on social media platforms and websites to target adults seeking to exploit child victims.The individuals listed below were arrested on the following charges:Jacob Hughes, 30 — Traveling to meet a minorCosme Bejaran, 33 — Traveling to meet a minor, soliciting a minor with computer or electronic devices, transmission of harmful material to a minor, resisting without violenceKristofer Cromwell, 41 — Traveling to meet a minor, soliciting a minor with a computer or electronic deviceBodler Laplante, 34 — Traveling to meet a minorDaniel Mclaughlin, 27 — Traveling to meet a minorJavier Chavez, 33 — Traveling to meet a minorChristopher Garrett, 34 — Traveling to meet a minorJoshua Vanteicher, 41 — Traveling to meet a minor, Use of a computer to seduce/solicit/entice a child to commit sex acts, transmission of harmful material to minors by electronic deviceRandy Wright, 34 — Traveling to meet a minorAccording to arrest reports, all nine men engaged in sexually charged conversations online with undercover law enforcement, who were posing as 13 and 14-year-old children under different names.Each of the men reportedly traveled to a Lee County home with the intent of having sex with a minor. When they arrived at the residence, they were arrested by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.One of the men, Chavez, messaged an undercover officer who he believed to be the parent of a 14-year-old girl, LCSO said. He discussed traveling to have sex with the parent’s child and mentioned filming the acts. Chavez was arrested after driving from Sarasota County to the Lee County sting house.Another man, Bejarin, fled from LCSO when he arrived at the home. He was caught shortly after while trying to hide in the water of a nearby canal.The men were taken to the Lee County Jail.

  • Randy Wright, 34 — Traveling to meet a minor

According to arrest reports, all nine men engaged in sexually charged conversations online with undercover law enforcement, who were posing as 13 and 14-year-old children under different names.
