PHOENIX — A twice-convicted sex offender was arrested on child sex trafficking charges in Chandler, authorities said Monday.

On May 12, 24-year-old Travis Salmon was taken into custody at an apartment complex near Galveston and Hartford streets for two counts of child sex trafficking and two counts attempted sexual conduct with a minor, according to court documents.

Prior to the arrest, Salmon had engaged in online communications with an undercover police detective who was posing as a 14-year-old girl, police said.

According to Form IV documents, Salmon agreed to pay two underage girls a sum of money in exchange for sex acts.

Salmon is currently on probation and has been previously convicted for child sex trafficking and aggravated luring, police said.

He is now being held without bond at the Maricopa County jail where he awaits his next court appearance on Wednesday.
