A convicted sex offender wanted on a nationwide warrant out of Kentucky was arrested by the CHAOS Task Force members. Clifford Doss, 60, of Coal City was charged with Traveling To Meet a Minor and Indecent Solicitation of a Child, both class three felonies and Incident Solicitation along with Grooming, both class four felonies in Woodford County.

The El Paso, Illinois Police Department said Doss is accused of chatting with a 15-year-old female for sexual purposes on a social media platform. Investigators say Doss took an Uber from Coal City to meet the minor, who is being portrayed by a law enforcement officer, to a set meeting location in El Paso. Once Doss exited the Uber, he was arrested by the El Paso Police Department and Woodford County Sheriff’s Office around 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, August 31st.

He remains in the Woodford County Jail on a $250,000 bond. The Kentucky Sex Offender Registry indicates that Doss was convicted on the charge of first-degree sodomy and the victim in that case was 12 years old. He was wanted for  violating the sex offender registry in Kentucky.

The CHAOS task force consists of the El Paso Police Department, Woodford County Sheriff’s Office, Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, Fairbury Police Department and several others. It was formed in early August of 2023.
