Sheriff Highlights Signs Of Phishing Scam Emails | #phishing | #scams | #cybersecurity | #infosecurity | #hacker

(KNSI) – The Benton County Sheriff’s Office is helping people identify email scams.

The sheriff’s office recently posted a picture of a phishing scam email and highlighted some of the signs of a scam. Phishing scams work by sending an email and having the person receiving the email open it. The email then loads a virus, malware, or worse on your computer.

People have lost thousands of dollars, had their identity stolen, or their computer is locked, and they’re forced to pay a ransom to get back control.

The sheriff’s office says always to be suspicious of any unexpected emails. And never click on links or attachments from random emails.
