Sheriffs Urge Parents to Check Sex Offender Registry Prior to Halloween – WKVI Information Center | #childpredator | #kidsaftey | #childsaftey

Area sheriffs are urging parents to check the Sex Offender Registry before taking out children for trick-or-treating.

The online sex offender registry allows residents to know the identity of registered sex offenders in the area to avoid visiting the homes of a registered sex offender during door-to-door trick-or-treating.

There are currently about 51 registered sex offenders in Starke County, 31 in Pulaski County, 81 in Marshall County, and 206 registered sex offenders residing in La Porte County.

To check the online registry in your county, the website is available here.
