The Hospital for Sick Children says it “could still be weeks” until all its systems are back online after a cyberattack triggered a “code grey” failure last Sunday.
In a statement released Friday evening, the children’s hospital said that while access to phone lines and the internal payroll system has been restored, it’s still working to recover all affected systems.
“Some patients and families may still experience diagnostic and/or treatment delays while SickKids works to restore all systems,” the statement said.
SickKids confirmed in an earlier statement that the event was triggered by a ransomware attack. Third parties and law enforcement have been engaged to resolve the situation.
The hospital also said that there is no evidence of patient data breaches.
