Singapore firm Shook Lin & Bok has allegedly paid $1.3 million in bitcoin after it was hit by a ransomware attack last month. The incident was discovered on April 9 and investigations are ongoing with the local authorities.
According to ransomware incident platform SuspectFile, the attack was allegedly perpetrated by Akira ransomware group. Shook Lin & Bok was suspected to have paid 21.07 bitcoins across three separate transactions to the attackers. The value of the bitcoins amounted to approximately $1.3 million at the time of payment.
