SAN MATEO, CA — Police in San Mateo have shared a sketch of a suspected sexual predator who investigators believe assaulted a woman last month near an overpass.
According to detectives, the woman called police to report a sexual assault on Dec. 26, telling dispatchers the incident happened while she was walking over Highway 101 on the 3rd Avenue overpass around 6:30 p.m. The woman said a man approached her and attempted to talk to her before assaulting her and fleeing west on 3rd Avenue.
Police said the woman told officers the man spoke English and said his name was Eric. Investigators canvassed the area but were unable to locate a man matching her description.

As the investigation continued, police worked with the victim to create a sketch of the suspect with hopes that someone will recognize the man in the drawing.

- Adult male, around 25 years old.
- Light Complexion.
- 5’6” tall, 140-150 pounds.
- Short dark curly hair.
- Dark brown eyes.
- Thin dark mustache.
- Freckles around nose and under eyes.
