Software provider for Valley Health System hit with ransomware | #ransomware | #cybercrime

The software provider for several hospitals in the Las Vegas valley says it was the victim of a ransomware incident earlier in the fall.

The company ESO sent out a notification on Oct. 27 that it detected the ransomware about a month prior, according to a news release from the Valley Health System.

Valley Health facilities include Centennial Hills, Desert Springs, Spring Valley, Summerlin and Valley hospitals.

The affected data includes personal information like names, phone numbers, addresses, and personal or health information. ESO said it does not believe any of the personal health information has been misused.

ESO recommends people monitor their account statements and credit history for any signs of unauthorized activity or transactions.

Anyone with questions is asked to call ESO’s helpline at (866) 347-8525, which is open Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. PT.
