Slippery Rock University’s Center for Cybersecurity and Advanced Computing will host a Cyberspace Event, Nov. 30, that will feature speakers and presentations to help people understand cybersecurity threats.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Slippery Rock University’s Center for Cybersecurity and Advanced Computing will host a Cyberspace Event, 12:30-2 p.m., Nov. 30, at the Advanced Technology and Science Hall, Room 142, as well as on Zoom. This event, which addresses topics related to cybersecurity, is sponsored by the C2AC, SRU’s College of Engineering and Science and the Computer Science Department.
In addition to featured talks from cybersecurity experts, SRU students will present case scenarios, live software demonstrations and applications to address cybersecurity threats and challenges.
The event is free and open to the public. For those wishing to attend virtually, the online registration form must be completed to receive a Zoom link.
The invited speaker is Celeste Matarazzo, a cybersecurity researcher who has worked more than 30 years at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California. Matarazzo works with industrial and academic partners to develop tools and techniques to enhance security in a networked world. She will provide an overview and discuss recent trends facing computer security researchers and practitioners.
