Leading online news portal bdnews24.com has experienced a major disruption, remaining offline for more than 10 hours since Friday morning due to a possible “hacking” situation.
While trying to access it, the news portal’s front end says: “Sorry, you have been blocked.”
The management of the news portal suspects that it might have been hacked.
The news outlet addressed the situation on its official Facebook page, stating: “For reasons beyond our control, we are unable to serve our audience through our news portal. We apologize unreservedly to all for the inconvenience caused. We vow to fight back to regain the means to restore the website.”
As of 12am on Saturday, the site remained inaccessible.
