A Montegut man faces charges of child molestation, and investigators say there may be more victims waiting to come forward.

The Terrebonne Parish sheriff’s Office booked 43-year-old David Paul Martin on four counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile, after what it said was an extensive investigation that included evidence presented by the alleged victim.

“Due to the investigative findings in this case, Detectives feel additional victims could be a strong possibility,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

The sheriff’s office encourage other victims to contact the Special Victim’s Unit of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 876-2500.

“Our Detectives are working closely with the victim and family to bring a resolution to this unfortunate investigation. As always, we ask for patience and privacy for the victim and those affected by this investigation,” Sheriff Tim Soignet said. “Our Detectives will continue to do what is necessary to bring dangerous perpetrators to justice.”
