Teachers awarded grants to assist with special needs students | #specialneeds | #kids | #parenting | #parenting | #kids

The Jefferson City Special Education Parent Teacher Association recently awarded grants to teachers in the Jefferson City School District to help with the unique classroom challenges for special needs students this year due to COVID-19.

The grants totaled to more than $2,100 to fund items for classrooms across the district such as a laminator, sensory kits, a color printer, aprons, a document camera, headphones, social story graphics, and training and educational supplies, according to a news release from JC Schools.

The grant recipients include Emily Duncan, a teacher at Capital City and Jefferson City high schools; Lori Ewing, of Southwest Early Childhood Center; Stacy Fick, of Cedar Hill Elementary School; Angela Glenn, of East Elementary School; Laura Huntley, of Southwest Early Childhood Center; Michelle Mosley, of Belair Elementary School; Bobbie Mundwiller, of Lawson Elementary School; Jaclyn Ousley, a teacher at JCHS, CCHS, Cedar Hill and Pioneer Trail Elementary School; Lauren Register, of Lawson Elementary School; Emma Smith, of JCHS; Morgan Trachsel, of South Elementary School; Dawn Webster, of Lawson Elementary School; and Christina Woody, of Thomas Jefferson Middle School.
