TikTok duvet hack hailed as ‘the easiest way to change your bed sheets’ in minutes | #hacking | #cybersecurity | #infosec | #comptia | #pentest | #hacker

If you regularly find yourself battling with your duvet cover when changing your bed sheets, TikTok user MaddyKate01 says you might be “overcomplicating” things. Instead, has a handy hack which can get the chore done in minutes, without getting yourself in a tangle.

Maddy shares home and life hacks to TikTok with an audience of 114.8K followers. In a video, she shared what she believes is “the easiest way to change your bed sheets”. She added: “I used to hate changing my bed sheets, but now it literally takes five minutes”.

The key is to turn your duvet sheet inside out and then simply flip it onto the duvet cover. Maddy explained: “Reverse the duvet sheet and grab the top ends from the inside.” Your hands should be tucked within each of the corners of the sheet to create a pair of “mittens”.

Maddy continued: “Grab the top duvet corners with your mittens and flip it over. Marry up the bottom duvet cover ends with the bottom duvet corners. Give it a good shake, secure the bottom and you’re done.”

Video viewers have applauded the hack, with many saying it has helped them to speed up their chores. A user name KB said: “Thank you for posting this. It’s going to help me.” Ellie Lups added: “I’ve been doing this for years.”

However, despite this being a “favourite hack” of some people, it seems there are still those who struggle with the job. A user posting under the handle Babzxo said: “I’ve been trying to teach my boyfriend to do this but he somehow ended up inside the sheet?”

Commenters also discussed another method known as “the burrito” which has been a big hit on TikTok. Lia said: “There’s a rolling one that’s apparently supposed to be easy but looks very complicated.”

The hack was shared by Mikayla G, a Canadian TikTok influencer who shares videos with her 5K followers under the username @missmikaylag. She said people who are not using this hack are “doing it wrong”.

The so-called burrito hack gets its name because of the rolling method employed to transfer the duvet into the fresh duvet cover. In her video, Mikayla showed a sped-up version of the hack. She said: “If you guys don’t know about this duvet hack stop scrolling because it will change your life.”

She continued: “[To begin] you take your duvet cover, make sure it is inside out. And then put the duvet insert on top and roll it really tightly until it’s all rolled up.

“Then you take each of the sides and kind of fold it in. This is probably the most difficult part.

“And you should be able to roll out the duvet, everything should be perfectly even. Then you just have to do up the buttons at the end.

“It’s so much easier than trying to crawl inside of it and it’s life-changing honestly. It’s so easy.”
