CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A group of vigilant individuals operating under the name “Predator Poachers” detained a man who allegedly intended to meet a minor for inappropriate reasons. The incident took place on Thursday at Yoctangee Park in Chillicothe, prompting a response from local law enforcement.

According to officers, the man disclosed that he and his companions were associated with the Predator Poachers group, an organization dedicated to exposing individuals seeking to exploit minors.
The suspect claimed to have engaged in online conversations with a person he believed to be a minor for an extended period.
Offering cooperation, the man agreed to wait inside a police cruiser while the officer spoke with the other individuals involved.
Officers proceeded to interview the man and the other individuals present. The man revealed that their group had created a social media profile with a fabricated persona of a minor. Despite disclosing the minor’s true age during conversations, the man claimed that some individuals still expressed interest in meeting.
The meeting in question had been arranged by the man, with the assistance of the group, at Yoctangee Park on the same day. The man mentioned the possibility of the suspect having compromising pictures on his cell phone.
Officer’s requested the man’s cell phone, which was voluntarily handed over. After informing the man of his rights, officers stated that he was free to leave at any time.
During their conversation, the suspect reportedly acknowledged the potential existence of incriminating photos on his phone but asserted that they did not belong to him.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing, with authorities working to verify the allegations.
