Not only have they received 5-star safety ratings in both adult occupant protection (AOP) and child occupant protection (COP), but these Tata SUVs also boast the highest scores for both compared to all other models in the list. Additionally, their body shells have been rated as stable, capable of withstanding even heavier loads. Further details about the crash test results for these SUVs are provided in this article.

The common safety features on both SUVs include up to 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and ISOFIX child seat anchors as standard. It also gets hill assist, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) features in the top variants.

Both of these sedans are based on the MQB A0 IN platform which is specially made for India and is up to 95 percent localised. Their body shells have also received a stable rating, capable of withstanding additional loadings.

Talking about the standard safety features, both sedans are equipped with dual front airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold assist, 3-point seatbelts and seatbelt reminder for all passengers, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages.

The Virtus has not only demonstrated its safety levels in the Global NCAP crash tests, but this made-in-India sedan has also received a full 5-star rating in the Latin NCAP crash test.

The Hyundai Verna is the first-ever Hyundai model made in India to achieve full five-star safety ratings in both child and adult safety according to the Global NCAP crash test. However, there’s a catch; its bodyshell and footwell area have been rated as unstable, meaning they are unable to withstand further loadings.

Its safety kit includes 6 airbags (as standard), electronic stability control (ESC), ABS with EBD, and 3-point seatbelts for all passengers. The Verna’s top-spec variant also features advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as forward-collision warning, blind-spot alert, and lane assist.
