The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, with help from Johnstown police and the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations, arrested two men during a joint operation to fight child prostitution.

41-year-old Jose Calderon of Greeley and Vincent Chirafisi, 37, of Fort Collins were arrested in early November on charges of soliciting child prostitution, attempted sexual assault on a child, attempted patronizing a child prostitute and using a computer to solicit sexual contact with a minor.

All charges are felonies.

The arrests occurred following the operation in which detectives posed as underage sex workers on an online forum, according to a press release by the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office. They were contacted by “several men soliciting services,” according to the release. Law enforcement officers met the men at an agreed location, leading to the arrest of the two suspects.

“Our investigators are continuing to use our resources to prevent exploitation of vulnerable youth,” Larimer County Sheriff John Feyen said in the release. “Child predators are not welcome here, and we will continue taking a proactive approach to stop this predatory behavior in Northern Colorado.”
