The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has issued a warrant for a convicted sex offender accused of rape.
Spokesperson Kayla Vincent said the warrant was issued by Special Victim’s Unit detectives for the arrest of convicted sex offender Anthony D. Bruner Sr., 37, after an investigation revealed he was having inappropriate sexual contact with a girl under the age of 14.
Vincent said the contact occurred from January to April of 2022.
Bruner, who is currently incarcerated in the Tensas Detention Center for failure to register as a sex offender, is charged with first-degree rape.
Judge Tony Fazzio set his bond at $750,000.
Bruner was convicted of indecent behavior with a juvenile in 2010 in Jefferson Davis Parish. He was also convicted of failure to register as a sex offender in 2018, 2020, and again in 2023.
Det. Cory Myers is the lead investigator on this case.
