DENVER (KDVR) — The St. Vrain Valley School District is directing parents of students at Westview Middle School to pick up their children from Silver Creek High School after the middle school was evacuated for a potential safety threat.
According to the district, students at the middle school were evacuated Friday afternoon to the gym of Silver Creek High School.
In a message posted on the district’s website, the administration only said that the evacuation was due to “a potential safety threat.”
All students and staff were safe when the message was posted, according to the district.
Parents and guardians must provide a valid ID to pick up their students at the high school, located at 4901 Nelson Rd., Longmont. Police and district staff will stay at the school until all students have been released to a parent or guardian, the district’s message stated.
The district said it is expecting “significant traffic congestion due to the reunification process” and asked everyone involved to stay calm and patient during the process. Anyone who urgently needs to reach a member of the St. Vrain Valley School District team regarding a student can email [email protected].
