Cybersecurity events never come to San Diego, but we got one! The International Cybersecurity Championship, a four-day Capture the Flag competition for 18-25 year olds happening in La Jolla, CA from August 1-4, 2023. I got a chance to talk with Jessica Gulick who was producing the event and Jeff Duran of QuintessenceLabs who was sponsoring the event.

We discussed the ups and downs, the competitiveness, the cheating that is not accepted and the cheating that is accepted.
