Job Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Windows Systems Engineer who will be responsible for all aspects of Windows Server based systems, VMWare vSphere environment, Active Directory, security access controls, and virtual display systems. Assumes full accountability along with the other members of the Windows team for delivery of services that meet all business requirements in a timely fashion. Provides well thought out ideas and challenges team direction and decisions with a constant eye on what is best for Epiq Systems financially and also strategically. This includes proper scoping, “bottom-up” estimation, resource allocation/tracking, documentation, communication, testing and deployment/introduction. Collaborates with the Application Engineering and IT teams to develop project schedules and resource allocation models for all IT projects.

Responsible for oversight of Windows and VMWare Services Epiq wide. This includes:

  • Responsible for Windows based servers (provisioning, performance, maintenance, operations, etc.)
  • Responsible for all VMWare ESX/vSphere Hosts, including virtual desktops
  • Participates in Change Control Board for Epiq infrastructure changes
  • Responsible for vendor escalations as required
  • Responsible for MS Exchange, Active Directory, Lync and other enterprise solutions
  • Responsible for RSA and BES Servers
  • Ensures systems uptime and stability
  • Ensures process procedures are followed and documentation is completed when new services are deployed
  • Ensure Business Unit needs are meet in agreed upon timelines
  • Supports application engineering team as needed
  • Continually seeks ways to improve services
  • Responsible for hands on support when needed to supplement team resources
  • Must be customer focused

Job Qualifications and Requirements: An individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:

  • Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Exchange and Active Directory
  • Expert level knowledge with VMWare ESX, vSphere and View in a SAN environment
  • Strong background in Highly Available architecture design (clustering, etc.)
  • Advanced understanding of TCP/IP networking (DNS, DHCP, RAS, VPN)
  • Expert level knowledge with Windows system management tools, philosophies, methods
  • Expert level knowledge of Antivirus/malware and patch management technologies
  • Strong background in Windows and Network security practices and strategies
  • Advanced understanding of Windows automation (scripting, imaging, installation, management)
  • Analytical and process oriented approach
  • Expert level diagnostic method and skills in a Windows environment
  • Strong background integrating with enterprise storage solutions (SAN/NAS)
  • Strong project management skills; task focused and results oriented delivery
  • Customer service and performance driven
  • At have at least 8 years of experience in Information Technology
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred
  • Relevant Certifications: MCA, MCITP, MCSE, MCM, VCP, VCAP
  • Experience with SCCM and SCOM and SharePoint a big plus
  • Travel 10% or less
  • On-call rotation
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, performing work on a computer
  • Must be able to routinely lift parcels weighing in excess of 25 pounds.
