You must blame apple for being evil and greed… moreYou talk as if we didn’t know the scummy tactics and price gourging that Apple loves to put onto their computers. This VR crap doesn’t costs more than 700$ to make for Apple, and since they love to have a lot of profit margin, it makes sense it goes up to 3500 per piece, accounting for the low number it will move.
Even HoloLens (which came out like a decade ago) were not this expensive and it actually delivered on a proper product.
Also, reminder that just 2 years ago, Apple was selling a 700$ device with 64 GB internal memory. 64 GB in fkin 2021!!!! There were also Macs being sold with just 128GB SSD just recently 🤡.
But let’s all pretend that never happened bc “Apple is good” and “M1 is the best CPU”, alright. And then you blame commenters here just for pointing out scams like this.

3499 for crap plus extra 300 for glasses 🤓 wow, Apple at it’s finest, absolute flops this stuff, I believe Apple soon will have to cease production of this abomination and cancel everything why it’s not too late 🤣🤣🤣

I got a solution: dont buy

David, 1 hour agoI was also thinking around $500. That’s how much you would pay for decent prescription glasses… moreImagine a household that brings enough money to afford even one pair of vision pro…

Anonymous, 1 hour agoBut that’s the problem
If we follow that logic there are better solutions to Nreal (no not … moreI’m not saying Nreal is the be all and end all of display glasses. However, it certainly is a great solution. The idea of needing a cable to plug in to a host device being inconvenient is stupid. People have no idea the physics of how these things work. They want these glasses to be slimmer, lighter, have a processor, wireless screen sharing, and have a battery that lasts longer. That’s not possible. These things are contradictory. Either way though, why criticize? So it needs a host device. Everyone carries a phone. It doesn’t work with iPhone, oh well. I’m not inclined to feel bad for someone who purposefully spent more to buy a more limited product.

PhoneFreak45, 1 hour agoAnd that host can power the glasses for many hours longer, has a dual purpose unlike the visio… moreBut that’s the problem
If we follow that logic there are better solutions to Nreal (no not Apple, that’s a thing of it’s own and too expensive)

I was also thinking around $500. That’s how much you would pay for decent prescription glasses so it wouldn’t surprise me. Imagine the cost if you have different family members that all need different inserts!
Should I be surprised lol 😆. This is just the beginning of a long list of expensive replacement parts and accessories.

prescription lenses for ntomal glasses are expensive anyway so that price is actually fairly decent for apple

Anonymous, 2 hours agoNreal is great
But Nreal needs a host, it doesn’t work stand alone like what Apple made.
… moreAnd that host can power the glasses for many hours longer, has a dual purpose unlike the vision pro, and most importantly the glasses cost a tenth the price.

Anonymous, 2 hours agoI can already see people typing how overpriced it is.
Blame Zeiss, they were never a cheap… moreNahh i am effin surprised as heck to see this type of price for Apple accessories only 300 to 600 dollars
While have Watch Ultra that cost 900 euro, watch series 8 aluminum is 450 and watch SE is 300 euro.
I would expect these be in price range of 1500-2000
It’s like Vision Pro in name so the price is weird coming from Apple that use to have Beats heatphones that had quality like 20 dollar heaphones

You must blame apple for being evil and greedy, that’s how it works on this site
On a more serious note, Apple more often than not have a nasty pricing attitude.
But after reading into what amount and what kind of tech they build in this thing, the price seems actually low. I dare to say “cheap” for the tech inside (which is a different comparison if we talk about a regular user, for those this is indeed way too expensive)
But most people here will never look into it, just go on how much they hate a company, because it seems they have nothing better to do in their lives.
You don’t see mee praise Sony all the time, because I do like their phones, but this site has always been like “Apple is bad, Samsung is bad, Google Pixel is bad but all the chinese phone brands must be praised into heavens”
Anyhow
But I rather see a different company do this, I don’t like Apple their eco system so I wouldn’t buy this.

Wait til apple makes it, it’ll be better!
Apple: Makes a good but not particularily impressive VR headset.
Revolutionary!

Blame Zeiss, they were never a cheap company, even their regular glasses go for like €600 euro for a basic one in my country, while any other pair is 3 or 4 times less.

If this costs 3500, I can’t wait to see how much this takes to assemble and put work and money towards the operating system.
Moreover, Facebook should make a Oculus Vision app so you can play your games on your new Vision Pro.

Apple is an pure evil which exposes human weaknesses. Poor minds
