At least 10 suspects are facing felony child solicitation charges after undercover operation involving multiple agencies, where officers posed as minors and made arrests across 48 hours.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – At least 10 suspects are facing felony child solicitation charges after undercover operation involving multiple agencies, where officers posed as minors and made arrests across 48 hours.
Authorities booked the suspects into the Metropolitan Detention Center after investigators said they exchanged inappropriate messages with the officers.
Seven of the suspects also face charges of meeting with a child after investigators said they arranged in-person meetings and then got arrested when they showed up.
In some cases, investigators said suspects planned to pay the supposed minors for sexual favors. In one case, they said a suspect drove from Santa Fe to Albuquerque to meet a 14-year-old girl.
Three of the suspects, Michael Baca, Jesus Jacobo and Christopher Frost, faced a judge on Wednesday, and prosecutors are trying to keep them in jail until trial.
Frost also faces allegations that he initiated contact with a 14-year-old boy through an app, sent nude photos and then drove to a meeting spot in Albuquerque to engage in sexual activity.
