The Delhi Police intensified its month-long Child Safety Awareness campaign on Thursday, conducting self-defence training, cyber safety workshops and traffic awareness programmes across schools in the Capital. More than 11,500 girl students participated in the initiatives in a single day.
Under the ‘WE CARE’ programme, the Delhi Police organised an interactive child safety event at Shri Ram Global School in Tikri Kalan. The programme opened with a performance by the Delhi Police Orchestra Band, followed by self-defence demonstrations by the Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC). The SWAT team also interacted with students and explained its specialised security operations.
Officials from the Outer district Cyber Police Station conducted sessions on cyber safety and online security, while traffic police personnel held interactive classes on road safety. Students took part in quizzes on traffic rules, and red, yellow and green caps were distributed to reinforce traffic signal awareness. A tug-of-war competition was also organised to promote teamwork.
