ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV/Gray News) – A lawsuit has been filed against Roblox, claiming a 13-year-old girl in St. Louis was exploited by a pedophile.
Roblox is an online gaming platform where users can create, share and play millions of games and interactive experiences.

Attorney Davis Cooper says the design of the gaming app Roblox makes children easy prey for pedophiles.
“Our firm has had outreach from hundreds of families. We don’t expect that to stop anytime soon. We think this is a very big problem that’s ruined a lot of lives,” Cooper said.
The lawsuit says a 13-year-old was targeted by a predator who posed as a fellow child and exploited the girl’s age and vulnerability before sending her sexually explicit images of himself and convincing her to do the same.
“Roblox has been so successful because they have convinced parents, I think in a very misleading way, that Roblox is a safe alternative to more dangerous environments on the internet and more dangerous activities that are online,” Cooper said.
Roblox released the following statement in response to the lawsuit:
“We are deeply troubled by any incident that endangers our users, and safety is a top priority. We dedicate substantial resources, including advanced technology and 24/7 human moderation, to help detect and prevent inappropriate content and behavior, including attempts to direct users off platform, where safety standards and moderation may be less stringent than ours. While no system is perfect, Roblox has implemented rigorous safeguards, including restrictions on sharing personal information, links, and user-to-user image sharing, and prohibiting sexual conversations. We also partner with law enforcement and leading child safety organizations worldwide to combat the sexual exploitation of children.”
The lawsuit also points to inappropriate environments in the game, including references to Diddy and Epstein.
Other suits and actions from state officials, he says, prove more must be done.
“There are all sorts of measures that can be taken. It starts from top to bottom. It starts with preventing predators and sick individuals from playing Roblox,” Cooper said.
Cooper argues that current parental controls are not enough. He says they are seeking compensation and justice for the 13-year-old in St. Louis.
