The cyber crime wing of the Cyberabad Police arrested 15 people in connection with 11 cybercrime cases detected between July 29 and August 4, 2025, exposing a network of fraudsters operating across multiple States.
Of the 15 suspects held, 12 were involved in trading fraud cases, which accounted for nine of the incidents reported during the week. The remaining cases included a gaming fraud and a business fraud, leading to two and one arrests respectively.
During the operation, the police seized 14 mobile phones, eight debit cards, an Aadhaar card, a PAN card, 13 SIM cards and four proprietorship stamps, used to facilitate the scams.
Authorities have urged citizens to remain cautious of online trading and investment schemes offering unusually high returns, to verify all financial transactions before transferring money, and to be wary of unsolicited requests for personal information. The public has also been advised to avoid clicking on suspicious links sent via messaging apps or email, and to report any suspected cyber fraud by calling 1930 or visiting the national cybercrime reporting portal.
