THE Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) arrested 26 individuals for various violations of the cybercrime law during operations from Aug. 3 to 9.
ACG director BGen. Bernard Yang said that of those arrested, 18 were caught in entrapment operations, while eight were wanted persons tracked down in separate anti-cybercrime efforts.
One victim was rescued and one child in conflict with the law was taken under custody, the report added.
Yang said the PNP-ACG already secured convictions for two suspects in cybercrime-related cases.
The weeklong operations resulted in the service of 22 cyber warrants, the filing of 34 cases, and 15 inquest proceedings.
Throughout the week, PNP-ACG conducted 357 cyber patrols and 18 digital forensic examinations.
