MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) arrested 26 individuals for various violations of the cybercrime law during operations on Aug. 3 to 9.
In a news release over the weekend, ACG Director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang reported that of those arrested, 18 were caught in entrapment operations while eight were wanted persons tracked down in separate anti-cybercrime efforts.
One victim was rescued and one child in conflict with the law was taken under custody, the report added.
Yang said the PNP-ACG already secured convictions for two suspects in cybercrime-related cases.

The week-long operations resulted in the service of 22 cyber warrants, the filing of 34 cases, and 15 inquest proceedings.
Throughout the week, PNP-ACG conducted 357 cyber patrols and 18 digital forensic examinations.
