The FBCSO operation used chat platforms to expose suspects attempting to solicit minors.
FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas — In a two-day undercover operation aimed at protecting children from online exploitation, the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office arrested four individuals accused of soliciting sexual acts from minors.
The proactive operation, conducted on July 30 and 31 by the Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC), Human Trafficking, and Gang Unit, targeted adults using social media and internet chat platforms to pursue underage victims.
Who was arrested?
The following individuals were taken into custody and now face charges:
- Dominique Smith, 38 — Online solicitation of a minor
- Hossam Hasan Farraq, 35 — Online solicitation of a minor, evading in a motor vehicle, unlawful carrying of a weapon
- Luis Rodriguez, 36 — Online solicitation of a minor
- Marc Anthony Fuentes, 33 — Online solicitation of a minor, possession of a controlled substance
Law enforcement collaboration
Multiple specialized units within FBCO contributed to the success of this operation, including the Crime Reduction Unit, which handled surveillance, arrests, and transportation, and the Auto Theft Unit, which provided drone support for enhanced safety.
Agencies that assisted in the sting included the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office, Missouri City Police Department, Richmond Police Department and Sugar Land Police Department.
