WASHINGTON COUNTY Ore. (KPTV) – On Thursday, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) conducted a child predator sting, arresting five men for luring a minor and online sexual corruption of a child.
Investigators used multiple dating apps, social media sites, and other online platforms to pose as minors. The men arrested contacted the profiles and offered to meet, what they believed to be, a child in person for sex. When the men arrived to meet the child, they were arrested.
During the mission, several people immediately ended conversations once they realized they were speaking to a minor.
The men arrested for luring a minor and online sexual corruption of a child are: 24-year-old Raymi Calla-McFarlane of Portland, 45-year-old Karl Bawden of Hillsboro, 65-year-old Glen Guthrie of Gladstone, 25-year-old Josue Romero-Lopez of Beaverton, and 49-year-old David Vichi of Wallowa.

In early April, investigators with the Hillsboro Police began investigating Vichi after an actual minor came forward with concerning information regarding inappropriate contact. The investigation led WCSO to include Vichi in the child predator sting.
Anyone with additional information about any of the people is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 503-846-2700.
In a press release, WCSO said, “The Sheriff’s Office regularly conducts undercover operations, both full-scale stings and day-to-day chats, targeting child predators. The Sheriff’s Office receives thousands of child abuse reports each year, and these proactive missions are designed to identify and contact people before they victimize an actual child.”
