In a statement, Horizon Behavioral Health said, “On March 16, 2025, Horizon Behavioral Health discovered it became the victim of a ransomware incident. We immediately launched an investigation led by some of the nation’s top cybersecurity experts to help us address the issues affecting our network. The investigation revealed that sensitive personal information related to clients may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party. Horizon Behavioral Health emphasized the importance of client information and took immediate action to notify those affected. “We mailed data breach notification letters to impacted individuals offering them complimentary credit monitoring services for one year, and we also posted information about the breach and credit monitoring online on our website,” the statement said.

Horizon expressed gratitude for the support from patients, staff, and the community, and committed to using the incident as an opportunity to enhance cybersecurity measures. “We will use this as an opportunity to strengthen our cybersecurity readiness in an ever-changing threat landscape,” the statement concluded.
